This amazing 5 days adventure takes us to ‘Bwindi Impenetrable Forest’ in Uganda’s mountainous region far southwestern tip where you will have the opportunity to track Mountain Gorillas in their natural habitant, The park is a premier UNESCO World Heritage site and a 331 ancient afro-montane rainforest renowned for harboring nearly half of the world’s endangered mountain gorillas.
Highlights:
Day 1 – Arrival at Entebbe International Airport.
Arrival in Entebbe as per your international flight meet up with our representative and transfer to the Hotel, time permitting not later than 3pm, you will depart by car and transfer to the docking point (10mins), settle in a speed boat crossing Lake Victoria to the Mabamba swamp (40mins) and then move to a canoe that will comfortably maneuver in the swamps as you search for the rare shoebill.
Mabamba Swamp is one of the best places for spotting the rare shoebill storks, however due to their scarce population some fortune is needed but rarely does one leave the swamp without seeing one! Many other water birds have chosen this area as their home, so birding is always very interesting, return to the boat and enjoy a relaxed cruise on lake.

Day 2 – Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – Southern sector.
After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Entebbe international airport for your domestic flight to Kisoro. The flight is scheduled to depart Entebbe at 7:00am and arrive in Kisoro at 8:15am
Upon arrival, meet up with the your driver/guide for a briefing on the very interesting activities of the day which will be adapted to your desires, you can opt either drive directly to the lodge or drive 30 minutes to Lake Mutanda Sheba’s Camp, the starting point of the hike and canoe activity.
The walk from Kisoro to the lake is across villages is 4km and accompanied by a guide, then settle in a dugout canoe, this activity comes in sessions, you can opt to cruise for 30 minutes, 1 hour or 2 hours relaxing and enjoying the beautiful panorama, depending on the session chosen, where the activity ends, there you will hike for a few steps and find your vehicle and guide to drive you to Nkuringo (approx. 10 km – 1 hour’s drive).

Day 3 – Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
After breakfast, at around 7:30 am for Nkuringo tracking, with packed lunch and drinking water you will be transferred to the National Park Head Quarters for the briefing on the dos and the don’ts while with the gorillas. You then continue to the forest for the start of the actual gorilla tracking.
The duration of the trek is only determined by the location of the primates on the day of tracking, and the time taken to find the gorillas can take from an hour to a full day – after spotting them, spend 1hour of viewing and hike back, meet the vehicle and drive back to the lodge.
The beauty of this rainforest is spectacular. The area offers a dramatic, steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense, but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails, allowing access to tourists. The time taken and the terrain vary as per the movements of these great primates. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle and endangered giants is an awesome, exciting experience to be long savoured. Many find it to be a rare and moving opportunity.

Day 4: Day at leisure or engage in optional activities.
On this day, you will either relax at the lodge while enjoying the stunning views of the forest or you can opt to engage in the optional activities available like visiting the Batwa pygmy’s community.
The Batwa are the original inhabitants of the Bwindi forest, have a chance to meet these people whose livelihood depends on fruit gathering and hunting, you will have a glimpse of their cultural lifestyle and later either walk or be driven back to the lodge.

Day 5 – Fly back to Entebbe.
After an early breakfast enjoy another glimpse of the misty jungle then start the drive back to Kisoro Airstrip for your local scheduled flight to Entebbe International Airport. The flight is scheduled to depart Kisoro at 08:30am and arrival in Entebbe at 11:25am however the time may vary, depending on the routing of the day, depending on your outbound flight, you will either spend this night in Entebbe or directly connect for your international flight – to be advised.
