Queen Elizabeth National Park, located in western Uganda, is one of the country’s most diverse and visited conservation areas. Spanning approximately 1,978 square kilometers, the park is famous for its rich biodiversity, scenic landscapes, and wide range of wildlife. Established in 1952, it was named after Queen Elizabeth II and has since become a top safari destination in East Africa. The park is home to over 95 mammal species, including the famous tree-climbing lions of Ishasha, elephants, buffaloes, and leopards, as well as more than 600 bird species, making it a haven for birdwatchers.
